Ohhh, Games of Thrones. I found this awesome series by chance: I was upset because a Supernatural episode wasn't loading and went on Youtube to kill time. And what did my eyes see? An awesome opening of a certain series called "Games of Thrones". My first reaction: Nice effects!
From curiosity, I watched the first episode and got caught in the nicely-made web of intrigues and secrets. There are many families, many reasons, bastards, cripples, and a wall protecting the people from mysterios creatures called the White Walkers. There's the Iron Throne, this damn thing polished by every king's ass, and for this thing everyone is battling and killing each other.
I liked the concept itself; a real world, thorn apart by reasons of people from above. I liked that every family - Targaryen, Stark, Lannister have a certain saying, that fits them. For Starks ( a northern family ) is "Winter is Coming". Go figure why.
I like Daenerys; she's a very strong character. She has a strange relationship with her brother; she loves him, but he is just using her for his own reasons. She is... sold to a barbarian Khal (Khal Drogo) and said to become a Khaleesi in order for her brother to get the Iron Throne. So much for brotherly love. Later, she starts to act as a Khaleesi and rebels against his brother... I'm not going to say is she succeds or not.
I like Arya too; so much will for a small kid. And I have a thing for girls that go against the rules of society and decide that a sword is a needle just as good as any other (hence why Arya's sword is called "Needle"). She is rebelious, and loves her family and her sister, but more than anyone she loves her brother, who gifted her the sword - "Stick it with the pointy end".
It's a complex series and you must really pay attention to what is going on or you won't understand a thing. I highly recommend it - I feel in love with it and at the moment I'm saving up money for the Games of Thrones books.
xoxo XD
